In October 2024, I had the extraordinary opportunity to go on an African safari in Kenya through African Travel, and let me just say — it was hands down the most exciting and awe-inspiring trip I’ve ever been on. And as someone who’s traveled quite a bit, that really says something!

From the moment we arrived, the magic of Africa was palpable. The landscapes were straight out of a dream — vast savannas, towering acacia trees, and sunsets that lit the sky on fire. But the real highlight? The wildlife. We were just six feet away from all of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo — not to mention giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and even hippos wallowing in riverbeds.

Every game drive was an adventure. One morning, we watched a pride of lions wake up and stretch in the golden light. Another day, a massive elephant strolled right past our vehicle as if we weren’t even there. The animals are truly wild, and seeing them in their natural habitat is something that no zoo, no documentary — nothing — can prepare you for.

We stayed in luxurious tented camps that blended comfort with authenticity, surrounded by the sounds of nature. And the local guides? Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about conservation, culture, and making every moment special.
